On the lookout for Artists

The People’s Heritage Co-operative and our community partners are seeking Artists to support our community heritage project, ‘Represent’.

There are two separate commissions available for this fantastic opportunity to work alongside our talented, creative and curious community participants to develop work for our touring pop-up exhibition in Spring 2020.

Could you support our community groups to creatively ‘re-present’ stories from 100 years ago for new audiences?  Over the Summer, The Monday Coffee Morning Group at Edgbaston Community Centre and Saheli Hub at Handsworth Wellbeing Centre have been exploring the impact of gaining the vote and the push for political change following the Representation of the People Act and World War One.

Following a period of research and investigation, including visits to Birmingham Archives at the Library of Birmingham, each group has worked with Represent project staff to develop a Brief for an Artist Commission. They are on the hunt for Artists to help them to share their research and ideas with new audiences and ensure that they have a positive, creative learning experience.
