Walking to Libraries, saving our Libraries

This Saturday we’re walking to local Libraries on an ‘Awareness Walk’ – Selly Oak, Stirchley and Druids Heath Libraries are all potentially up for closure along with many others in a disastrous proposal to ‘Save Money’ following BCC Section 114.

As we all know, Libraries are hugely important to local communities and add value in so many ways, and keeping them open will be a huge community asset and ‘save money’ in so many ways longer term.

Walking to the Libraries also shows good planning when many of Birmingham Libraries were built – the plan was that no one in Birmingham was more than a mile from a public library, and it’s still true (unless closures go ahead).
