Discovering World War One in our city

60 pupils from Paganel Primary School visited Lodge Hill Cemetery, Library of Birmingham, The Hall of Memory and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to discover more about our city, it’s contribution and sacrifice in World War One. Over the course of two weeks we worked with pupils to explore our heritage and what it was like for the people living in our city.

Inspired by the postcard collection at ‘Voices of World War One’ exhibition at the Library of Birmingham, each child wrote their own postcard to soldiers and people of Birmingham in the Great War:
